I am very greatful for the decision that was made today, on keeping Tulane Athletics as a D-1A School. God is good.

Thank you for providing your comments regarding the recent resolution passed by the Board. Your insights help clarify the vision for Tulane's future and the important role alumni and local communities have in that future. The four characteristics of great organizations you have noted are the foundation in addressing issues that will enhance Tulane's future. Without question, academics and athletics play a vital role in who and what we are. Equally important is understanding the meaning of  "student - athlete" and the appropriate balance or mix between the two.  Academics form the foundation of an individuals future, athletics provide refinement to the foundation.

Recognizing the well intended passion and emotion expressed during the last several weeks, it is imperative sound, rational approaches be utilized when addressing the present and future needs/goals of Tulane. It is my utmost hope all involved parties will work together, implementing strategic actions that continue to expand Tulane's academic excellence and athletic programs.

Congratulations on the successful conclusion of the Board process, and the awakening of Tulane alumni nationwide to our responsibility and accountability for our school and its future. Let us hope the momentum will build!
